Are you a prospective or current nursing student of African American descent? Do you dream of making an impact in healthcare and advancing your education? The Concerned Black Nurses of Newark, Inc. (CBNN) is proud to offer scholarships to support the next generation of Black nurses in their educational journey!

Eligibility Requirements:

• Of African descent.
• Open to high school seniors accepted into a nursing program and current nursing students.
• Must provide:
  • Completed application form
  • Official high school or nursing school transcript
  • Acceptance letter (for high school students)
  • One letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • Personal statement on nursing philosophy, career goals, and what this award means to you

Application Deadline:

April 15, 2025 – All applications must be submitted and received by this date.

Scholarship Award Presentation:

May 10, 2025 – Awardees will be recognized at the 40th Annual Scholarship & Awards Luncheon at the Holiday Inn Newark International Airport Hotel. Attendance is required, and recipients will give a short two-minute acceptance speech.
